PLAYMETRICS
We're very excited to be utilizing the PlayMetrics app. Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) is also using PlayMetrics, and verifying that you've completed the coaching requirements is much simpler than in the past. PlayMetrics provides you with a communication portal with your players and parents, a practice planning tool, schedules, maps, and more. Spending a little bit of time familiarizing yourself with the app will save you time down the road. PlayMetrics is also accessible from your browser.
Before you can get started, you need to receive an email with an invitation to log in as a coach to PlayMetrics from the League Coordinator. You may already have a personal account. You will be able to toggle between your personal account and your coaching account in the same screen.

COACHING REQUIREMENTS
Coaches are required to:

Complete SafeSport and Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center prior to the beginning of the season

Attend at least one preseason coaches meeting

TCSA covers the costs involved. You should never be prompted to pay anything to complete the background check or trainings.

Please review "How to Complete Your Risk Management Requirements | A Guide" prior to beginning. First time users will create a login. Coaches are only required to complete the SafeSport section and the Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments. Any other trainings available are not required. The Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments meets the Concussion Training requirement. To verify that you've completed these trainings, you will be asked to enter the email address used as your login for U.S. Soccer Learning Center into PlayMetrics.
SAFESPORT
Online Course

Preventing abuse in sport begins with awareness and how to recognize the red flags of emotional, physical and sexual misconduct, and then what to do if abuse does occur. The online 90-minute SafeSport core course covers the following topics in-depth and provides a pre-and post-testing component:

Emotional and Physical Misconduct
If you have previously completed the core training, then you will instead be presented with the Refresher course. This course reviews the basics of recognizing misconduct in sport and the requirements for reporting misconduct.

INTRO TO SAFE AND HEALTHY
PLAYING ENVIRONMENTS
Online Course

Creating a secure atmosphere for youth athletes requires an understanding of both environmental risks and physical safety protocols. The online 20-minute Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments course covers essential safety topics to ensure a professional standard of care on the sidelines, including:

Concussion Awareness: Recognizing symptoms and following return-to-play protocols.

Environmental Safety: Managing heat, hydration, and severe weather (lightning) safety.

Emergency Action Plans: Understanding how to respond to and report on-field injuries.​

This course is a mandatory component for all coaches to ensure compliance with national player welfare standards. The training provides the fundamental tools needed to identify and mitigate risks before they impact the playing environment.
